Hi there! My name is Jonathan, and I’m the writer for Blood nor Water. You may have seen our programmer and artist Mitchell around our site, too. Together, we are Rosae ex Ludis! We decided that starting a regular newsletter would be a good way to kickstart our community here and talk with people about our game-under-construction Blood nor Water. It’s a story-driven strategy game about love, conflict, and how people change under duress.
Blood nor Water is our first game, but we’re hoping it’ll be one of many we make as a team. Right now we’re supporting ourselves through other work and pulling together the game in our spare time. We want nothing more than to focus all our efforts on it, so our plan now is to show off what we have in hopes we can get enough support to work on it full-time. From there, we can develop Blood nor Water to its fullest potential. From there, who knows? Maybe we’ll make enough money to keep doing this. Fingers crossed!
But enough about dreams. Let me tell you a little more about how this all came to be. Mitchell and I met online playing Terraria. We instantly bonded over castle-building hijinks and a shared interest in game design. We had so much fun we decided to try our hands at it together. That first project didn’t work out, but we had a lot of fun and learned a lot, so we kept doing things together. Time passed and we worked on and off on various ideas together. I went to school and Mitchell moved away from his hometown. After I graduated, we reconnected online. We were both still as interested in game development as ever, and we decided to finally make something worthy of releasing to the world. We met in-person for the first time and founded Rosae Ex Ludis in pursuit of that goal. After about a year, here we are, taking our first steps into a larger world.
We hope you enjoy the ride!

We're going to post our newsletters and blog posts here to the forums, so if anyone wants to comment or share their thoughts, they may.
Thanks.
